Overview

Convert Korean CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test, 수능) raw scores into standard scores, percentiles, and grades (1-9). Covers Korean Language, Mathematics, English, and Inquiry subjects with up-to-date grade cutoffs.

Formula

Grades are based on percentile: Grade 1: top 4%, Grade 2: 4-11%, Grade 3: 11-23%, Grade 4: 23-40%, Grade 5: 40-60%, Grade 6: 60-77%, Grade 7: 77-89%, Grade 8: 89-96%, Grade 9: 96-100%.

How to Use

  1. 1Select the subject area (Korean, Math, English, Inquiry, etc.).
  2. 2Enter your raw score.
  3. 3For Math, specify your elective subject (Probability & Statistics / Calculus / Geometry).
  4. 4Click 'Convert' to see your standard score, percentile, and grade.

Tips

  • English uses absolute grading — a fixed grade is assigned by raw score (90+ = Grade 1).
  • Math standard scores are adjusted by elective subject, so choose carefully.
  • Grade cutoffs change every year — refer to the latest data.
  • The second Inquiry subject has a standard score adjustment applied.

FAQ

Q. How are CSAT grades determined?

CSAT grades divide all test-takers into 9 levels by percentile. The top 4% receive Grade 1, 4-11% Grade 2, and so on. English and Korean History use absolute grading with fixed score cutoffs instead.

Q. What is the difference between standard score and percentile?

Standard score normalizes raw scores based on mean and standard deviation, adjusting for test difficulty. Percentile shows the percentage of students who scored below you. Regular admissions (정시) typically use standard scores.

Q. Why is the English section graded on an absolute scale?

Since the 2018 CSAT, English uses absolute grading: 90+ is Grade 1, 80+ is Grade 2, etc. This policy was introduced to reduce competitive pressure in the English section.
