Overview

Enter your scores and weights for assignments, midterms, finals, and attendance to calculate your overall course grade automatically. Uses weighted average calculation for precise results.

Formula

Final Grade = Sum(item score x weight) / Sum(weights). Example: Midterm(30%) 85 + Final(40%) 90 + Homework(20%) 95 + Attendance(10%) 100 = 90.5

How to Use

  1. 1Add grade components (midterm, final, assignments, attendance, etc.).
  2. 2Enter the weight (%) for each component.
  3. 3Enter the score you received for each component.
  4. 4Click 'Calculate' to see your weighted average grade.

Tips

  • Make sure all weights add up to 100%.
  • Exclude components you haven't completed yet to see your current standing.
  • Check the syllabus for exact weight percentages.
  • For curved grading, check the grade cutoff table rather than absolute scores.

FAQ

Q. What is the difference between weighted and simple average?

A simple average treats all items equally, while a weighted average accounts for the importance (weight) of each item. For example, a final exam worth 40% has more impact on your grade than homework worth 10%.

Q. What is the difference between absolute and relative grading?

Absolute grading assigns grades based on fixed score cutoffs (e.g., 90+ = A). Relative grading (curving) assigns grades based on your rank among all students. Most Korean universities use relative grading.

Q. How is attendance typically factored into grades?

Usually each absence deducts points from the attendance component. For example, with 10% attendance weight, each absence might cost 1 point. Missing more than 1/3 of classes often results in an automatic F.
