Tips

  • National immunization vaccines are available for free at designated medical institutions in South Korea (visit: nip.kdca.go.kr).
  • Observe your child at the clinic for 20–30 minutes after vaccination for adverse reactions.
  • Mild reactions such as fever and injection-site swelling typically resolve within 1–2 days.
  • If the schedule is delayed, catch-up vaccination is possible — consult your pediatrician.
  • This calculator is a reference tool; actual vaccination decisions should be made by your pediatrician.

FAQ

Q. Are national immunization vaccines free?

Yes, vaccines on South Korea's national immunization schedule are free at designated medical institutions. Some previously optional vaccines like rotavirus were added to the national program in 2024. Check the KDCA website for the latest list.

Q. What if the vaccination schedule is delayed?

You do not need to restart the series if vaccinations are delayed. A catch-up schedule can be arranged by your pediatrician based on the child's vaccination history.

Q. Can my child be vaccinated if they have a fever?

Mild cold symptoms usually do not prevent vaccination, but a fever of 38°C (100.4°F) or higher typically warrants waiting until recovery. Your pediatrician will assess the child's condition and determine if vaccination can proceed.
