Password Generator

Generate secure random passwords.

Overview

The Password Generator creates strong, secure passwords by combining uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. It is essential for protecting accounts from hacking and brute-force attacks.

Formula

Password strength is determined by the character set size (N) and length (L). Combinations = N^L. Example: mixed case + digits + symbols (~94 chars) at 12 characters = 94^12 ≈ 4.76 × 10^23.

How to Use

  1. 1Set the desired password length (12+ characters recommended).
  2. 2Choose which character types to include (uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols).
  3. 3Click 'Generate' to create the password.
  4. 4Copy the generated password and use it for your account.

Tips

  • Use at least 12 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols.
  • Use a unique password for every site.
  • Store generated passwords in a password manager (e.g., 1Password, Bitwarden).
  • Avoid including personal information (birthdate, name, etc.) in passwords.
  • Change passwords periodically and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).

FAQ

Q. How long should a secure password be?

At least 12 characters is recommended. At 16+ characters with a full character set, brute-force attacks are practically infeasible with current technology.

Q. Are special characters necessary?

Including them significantly increases the number of possible combinations and strengthens security. Note that some sites restrict certain special characters.

Q. Is it okay to reuse the same password across multiple sites?

Absolutely not. If one site is breached, every account sharing that password becomes vulnerable (credential stuffing attack).
