Overview
The Age Calculator determines both Korean age (counting age) and international age (full age) based on your date of birth. Since June 2023, South Korea officially unified all legal and administrative ages to the international age system.
Formula
International Age = Current Year − Birth Year − (1 if birthday has not yet occurred, else 0). Korean Age = Current Year − Birth Year + 1.

Q. What is the difference between Korean age and international age?
International age starts at 0 at birth and increases by 1 on each birthday. Korean counting age starts at 1 at birth and increases by 1 every January 1st. As a result, Korean age is typically 1–2 years higher.
Q. Does South Korea now only use international age?
Since June 28, 2023, all legal and administrative matters use international age. However, some people still use counting age in everyday conversation.
Q. What is 'year age' (연 나이)?
Year age = Current Year − Birth Year, calculated regardless of whether the birthday has passed. It is sometimes used as a reference for school enrollment cutoffs.
