FAQ
Q. How is the SAT scored?
The SAT consists of two sections: EBRW (Evidence-Based Reading & Writing) and Math. Each section is scored 200-800, for a total of 400-1600. The optional essay is no longer required by most colleges.
Q. Should I take the SAT or ACT?
Most US colleges accept both equally. The SAT emphasizes analytical reasoning while the ACT emphasizes speed and science reasoning. Take practice tests for both and choose the one where you score higher.
Q. Can I take the SAT in Korea?
Yes, SAT testing is available in Korea at international schools and designated test centers in Seoul, Busan, and other major cities. Check the College Board website for test center locations and dates. The SAT is offered about 7 times per year.
