FAQ

Q. What is the difference between km/L and L/100km?

km/L measures the distance traveled per liter of fuel. L/100km measures the fuel needed to travel 100 km. They are reciprocal: L/100km = 100 ÷ km/L.

Q. Why are US MPG and UK MPG different?

Because US gallons (3.785 L) and UK gallons (4.546 L) are different sizes. The same vehicle will show about 20% higher MPG using UK gallons.

Q. How do I convert 30 MPG to km/L?

30 MPG (US) ÷ 2.352 ≈ 12.75 km/L. In L/100km, that is 235.215 ÷ 30 ≈ 7.84 L/100km.
