Overview

The Parental Leave Pay Calculator estimates benefits under Korea's Employment Insurance Act. Employees with children aged 8 or under (or in 2nd grade or below) can take up to 1 year of leave, receiving 80% of ordinary wages (capped at KRW 1.5M/month, minimum KRW 700,000). Special schemes like the 3+3 parental leave system are included.

Formula

Parental Leave Pay = Ordinary Wage × 80% (Monthly cap KRW 1.5M, floor KRW 700,000)

• Months 1–3: Under the 3+3 system, 100% of ordinary wage (cap up to KRW 3M)
• 25% of benefits are paid as a lump sum after 6+ months of return to work
• When both parents take leave for the same child, the second parent receives 100% for the first 3 months
