Overview

The Bonus Tax Calculator computes income tax, local income tax, and social insurance premiums on bonuses, performance pay, and holiday bonuses, then calculates your actual take-home amount. Bonuses are treated as earned income and subject to withholding using the simplified tax table or bonus withholding formula.

Formula

Net Bonus = Bonus − Income Tax − Local Income Tax − Social Insurance Premiums

• Income Tax: Apply simplified tax table to (base salary + bonus), then subtract tax on base salary alone
• Local Income Tax: Income Tax × 10%
• National Pension: (Bonus-inclusive monthly wage) × 4.5% (subject to cap)
• Health Insurance: Settled annually based on total compensation

How to Use

  1. 1Enter your monthly base salary.
  2. 2Enter the bonus amount.
  3. 3Select the number of dependents.
  4. 4Click 'Calculate' to see tax and premium deductions with net take-home amount.

Tips

  • Bonuses are aggregated with the month's salary for withholding purposes.
  • Large bonuses may push you into a higher tax bracket, increasing the deduction rate.
  • Health insurance premiums may be additionally charged during the annual settlement.
  • Over-withheld taxes can be refunded during year-end tax settlement.

FAQ

Q. Are social insurance premiums charged on bonuses?

Yes, bonuses are part of remuneration and subject to social insurance. National Pension adjusts with standard monthly income changes, and health insurance may charge additionally during annual settlement.

Q. Is the tax rate on bonuses different from regular salary?

No separate rate applies. The bonus is added to the base salary, and the combined total is taxed using the simplified tax table. Higher bonuses push the marginal rate up.
